HARDY- new strooong generation......

Thomas Sanotra, Product development manager at Fairpoint Outdoors A/S testing a Zenith prototype rod at Hardy & Greys Ltd, Alnwick, England. Do you know of any other #6 rods that can stand this kind of pressure?

                                                          Hardy Zenith – SINTRIX™ Rods

News from Kinetic / Fairpoint Outdoors
                                                                                Hi folks.
This press release is pretty long, but it’s not every day we get the chance to introduce the most significant development in rod design for 25 years. So let us introduce you to the new Hardy Zenith rods and the revolutionary technology behind it. Everyone who has tried putting pressure – a lot of pressure – on these new rods are jaw-dropping surprised that a light fly rod showing excellent casting performance can be this strong. You simply have to try it to believe it!

SINTRIX™
The most significant development in rod design for 25 years!

What Is SINTRIX™ (silica nano matrix) Technology?

SINTRIX ™ is the trade-marked brand name for Hardy & Greys new composite rod material. The material was initially developed by 3M in the USA for the aerospace industry. The specific mix of material used for SINTRIX ™ is exclusive, and therefore unique to Hardy & Greys .
SINTRIX ™ material provides rods which are 60% stronger, up to 30% lighter and with hugely improved impact resistance over conventional carbon fibre. Initially the new technology will be used in Hardy fly rods but eventually SINTRIX™ will also be used in other types of rods as well.

SINTRIX™ is an enhanced fortified matrix resin which supports and bolsters the carbon fibres in a rod blank to withstand a far higher degree of bending and loading than ever before. Through technology, exclusive to Hardy & Greys Ltd, specially treated silica nano spheres are blended into a SINTRIX™ resin. Thousands of the nano spheres surround every individual carbon fibre giving a very even distribution of the particles throughout the resin which results in rods with unparalleled smooth casting actions.

This technology is radically different to any previous nano rods using titanium nano or carbon nano tubes. These previous carbon nano technologies simply attempted to reinforce the carbon and not the all-important resin. The bending strength of a SINTRIX™ fly rod is vastly improved over outdated common designs. Controlled testing has proven that SINTRIX ™ fly rods are over 60% stronger and up to 30% lighter than previous carbon rods. A SINTRIX™ fly rod will bend further without damage and will also take incidental impacts far better than any conventional fly rod design.

At Hardy & Greys Ltd. They believe that SINTRIX™ is THE new generation of carbon fibre technology and is the most significant breakthrough in rod development since the move from glass to carbon fibre twenty five years ago.

Testing SINTRIX ™

On a recent test trip to Florida five Hardy & Greys product developers caught around one thousand fish on SINTRIX™ rods. The fish ranged from 5 lbs to 350 lbs and the idea was to put the SINTRIX™ blanks in situations beyond normal use. Despite their best efforts to test the rods to destruction the testers did not break a single SINTRIX™ rod! Some of this action is available to view on YouTube.

Andy Mill, Hardy & Greys US based consultant and five time gold cup Tarpon tournament winner said about SINTRIX™ rods: “These new SINTRIX™ rods are the most powerful, lightest, smoothest casting rods designed – EVER!”

Sintrix facts:

· Sintrix should not be confused with today’s now standard [run of the mill] nano technologies.
· It is not based on the use of carbon nano tubes nor is it based on titanium nano particles. This material is based on the use of silica spheres which are much stronger in compression and far more easily distributed evenly throughout the material, which results in a significant improvement.

· Previous nano based materials enhanced material strength by up to 10% but there was a trade off as they degraded some of the other material properties.
· Sintrix gives over a 60% improvement in strength without the corresponding degrading of other properties.
· For those of you who remember the leap in performance which was achieved by using carbon instead of glass will know what we mean when we say this is the best thing to hit rod design in a decade or more.

Zenith – SINTRIX™ Rod

The new Zenith series harnesses the industry changing properties of Hardy & Greys SINTRIX material within an ultra advanced four section design to produce a range of rods that offer user friendly, ultra high performance and incredible strength to weight ratio.

• Manufactured with Hardy & Greys SINTRIX material – providing up to 60% increase in compressive strength
• Incredible strength to weight ratio
• Tolerates impacts far better than any conventional fly rod design
• High performance, fast action design
• Top of the line Titanium guides from REC and Fuji
• Stunning Hardy designed two part skeletal reel seat
Hardy Zenith rods are available in the shops from winter/spring 2011. It comes in sizes from 8’ # 4 to 10’ # 8

Expected price level Hardy Zenith 8’ # 4 :

€: 673

News from Test team Savagear.

"Hi folks

Tired of the freezing cold weather yet?

Many venues are frozen up these days, but some of our test fishermen have enjoyed some exciting river fishing in stead. Our Slovenian test fisherman, Jure Ramovz has had some incredible fishing for big danubian salmon, and the go-to lure has been the Cannibal Shad. It has produced some massive strikes under difficult conditions, and even though the danubian salmon is a rare fish to catch in deed, Jure has managed to catch a handful of very nice fish up to 109cm. Truly impressive!!!"

Check out the gallery at www.savage-gear.com for the latest reports.

Also, we have lots of Savage Gear and ProLogic news underway, so stay tuned in the new year.

Finally, we'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for an exciting and fruitful year and wish a merry christmas and a SAVAGE new year.

New-"Powerflex" by RIO

News from Kinetic / Fairpoint Outdoors

                                                             RIO goes spinfishing!

                                                                   RIO Powerflex Braid

RIO Products, the world famous fly line manufacturing company, are turning things up-side-down. For the Scandinavian market they are proud to launch a brand new braided line - made and designed for the specific demands of spin fishing.

To produce the very finest fly line, the highest quality core material must be used. Breaking strength, diameter consistency and abrasion resistance are vitally important, and when it comes to adding the fly line coating to the core, any fiber sticking out from the braided core will create a bad and useless fly line. The technical department at RIO constantly tests out new materials; hunting for the very best in braiding materials, quality and tolerance.

One of the newest and most radically advanced materials discovered by the research team has all the attributes of the perfect line for spin fishing.

RIO Powerflex Braid is a braided line that offers extreme casting distance and control, and features an amazing breaking strength to diameter ratio. A unique polysiloxane-sealing process is combined with pure Dyneema fibers and an engineer-designed EBT (Enhanced Braiding Tolerance) braiding process takes particular account of the relationship between parallel fibers superior strength and braided fibers positive attributes. These are the main ingredients behind a line that behaves perfectly no matter how far you cast. Not only does this unique fiber and braiding process give an incredibly strong material, it also makes it incredibly tough, and offers abrasion resistance second to none.

RIO puts pride in cutting-edge technology, usage of only the finest materials available, and in countless hours of experience and testing each product on the water. The new Powerflex Braid is probably the world's best braided spin fishing line and yet another example of RIO’s commitment to total line quality.

· EBT Enhanced Braiding Tolerance – Superior strength.
· Polysiloxane Sealing – Boosts abrasion resistance and suppleness.
· Fiber impregnation – Protects from dirt infiltration, saltwater and UV-rays.
· Micro Pigments – Colour, fastness and brilliance.
· Dyneema® Fiber – Maximizes breaking strength.
· Dyneema® is a Registerd trademark of Royal DSM N.V.

Last NEWS from "Flat-Jack"

Hi,

Savage Gear has a lot of 2011 news in store for everyone. One of them is the Flat Jack - a super efficient trolling lure for trout and salmon.

Press:

Diverse and unpredictable:
The new Flat Jack from Savage Gear

The Flat Jack is an innovative redesign of a classic trolling lure type, and its erratic, unpredictable, and enticing action will have trout and salmon go bonkers! The spoon has been developed by Mads Grosell who has years of experience as a trolling fisherman, and it is designed to attract attention by kicking, vibrating and flashing – even at the slowest paces.
The Flat Jack comes with a unique and innovative stainless steel pin which makes it possible to tie or snap the lures directly on the trace. Furthermore the pins can be removed, so that the lure can be fished as a traditional 'inline' lure.

The Flat Jack is best used with good quality swivels between the trace and main line. It can be fished at practically all speeds, but it is particularly effective been 1,5 and 3,2knots – a very good choice for fishing in rough weather, when trolling speed can be hard to control.

Six different colours are available and two different sizes – 11 and 13cm. They all come fitted with long-shank, saltwater-grade, big eye hooks which ensure superb hooking abilities. For the nearest dealer, please contact Svendsen Sport at info@svendsen-sport.com

PICTURE TEXT: The new Flat Jack from Savage Gear is a diverse and extremely lively rendition of a classic trolling lure. With is shimmering and unpredictable lively kicking, it is perfect for trolling after chrome monster seatrout and salmon.

News- from warm sunny Pesca Panama

                           GREETINGS FROM THE TROPICS

"THE SUN SHINED ON ME
IT WARMED MY SOUL
THE EAGER ANGLERS BOARDED THE BOATS
THEY WERE READY TO GO
WE THREW OFE THE LINES AND HEADED FOR THE SEAS
NEVER KNOWING WHAT THE NEXT ADVENTURE MIGHT BE"

"HI.THE ARE TWO THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY WEEK, SUNSHINE AND EAGER ANGLERS. THIS WEEK WE HAD BOTH! NIKKI BRANDT, ALES KONVICKA AND MICHAEL HAGEN WERE THE FIRST THREE ANGLERS TO ARRIVE AFTER A TWO DAY FLIGHT FROM EUROPE. THEY WERE HAPPY TO GET SOME SHUT EYE AND REST UP BEFORE THE FISHING STARTED.

NEXT TO ARRIVE WERE JUSTIN ALLENSWORTH AND MIKE KINGSLEY JOINED BY LEE MARGRAVE. ALL THREE ARE VETERAN PESCA PANAMA ANGLERS. ANGLER GREG ROBERTS WAS LEFT BEHIND THIS YEAR BUT HIS WIT AND ENTERTAINING WERE SURLY MISSED AND NOW HAS BEEN DULY NOTED IN THE FISHING LOG .

BY SUNDAY MORNING, MASTER GUIDE MIKE AUGAT ARRIVED WITH ANOTHER GROUP OF "MOSS BACK" REGULARS ALONG WITH SEVERAL NEW ANGLERS. DAVE BELL, DAN HUTCHIONSON, THIS 12TH TRIP TO FISH WITH PESCA PANAMA, ALONG WITH COLEY BURKE, BILL POSSIEL, BARRY FINGERHUT, ROBERT POWER, KEN HENDERSON AND OUR JOKE TELLER FROM NEW YORK, SIDNEY WAUD. WE WELCOMED ALL OF OUR ANGLERS, LOADED UP IN THE FISHING BOATS AND HEADED OUT TO FISH IN THE TROPICAL PACIFIC OCEAN.

AS IT TURNED OUT, WE HAD FANTASTIC WEATHER ALL WEEK, A LITTLE RAIN, A LITTLE WIND AND THE MOST DELICIOUS AIR AND DELIGHTFUL TEMPERATURE ONE COULD EVER HOPE FOR.

THE ACTION WAS INSHORE THIS WEEK AND THAT IS WHERE MOST OF OUR ANGLING WAS DONE. AT LAST COUNT OR ANGLERS HAD CAUGHT 18 DIFFERENT SPECIES, WITH BIG ROOSTERFISH, CUBERA SNAPPER, WAHOO AND A WIDE ASSORTMENT OF DIFFERENT SPECIES OF JACKS PROVIDING LOTS OF ROD BENDING ACTION. OUR POPPERS WERE REALLY PRODUCING SOME NICE CATCHES FOR OUR ANGLERS. BUT OUR ANGLERS FROM EUROPE, THOUGH EXPERIENCED ANGLERS, WERE HAVE TROUBLE GETTING INTO THE PANAMA FISHING GROOVE. THROUGH LOTS OF EFFORT AND MAY MILES GETTING BOUNCED AROUND ON THEIR ASSES THEY WERE ABLE TO MAKE SEVERAL NICE CATCHES. JUST WISH THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO MIKE FOR DELIVERING THE GENERATOR PARTS WE WERE NEEDING. JUSTIN FOR PROVIDING US WITH HIS C&W MUSIC, SIDNEY FOR SOME OFF THE WALL FUNNY JOKES AND GREG FOR THE SPORTING CLASSIC MAGAZINE HE SENT ME. THANKS TO ALL OF THIS WEEKS ANGLERS FOR CHOOSING TO FISH WITH PESCA PANAMA. I SINCERELY APPRECIATE YOUR PATRONAGE."

TIGHT LINES,

CAPTAIN JAY GUSTIN

FISHING TIP OF THE WEEK: SMALL LURES IN THE 1.5 OZ TO 2 OZ WERE THE HOT TICKET THIS WEEK. A LOT OF FISH FELL FOR THE OLD ROBERTS RANGER LURE. THE YO-ZURI SURFACE CRUSIER AND CRYSTAL MINNOW WERE ALSO PRODUCTIVE LURES THIS WEEK. IF YOU HAVE SOME FAVORITE LURES BRING THEM WITH YOU TO PANAMA. THERE IS NO TELLING WHAT THEY WILL CATCH

Kinetic-på glat is...

Small Nails-big fish

"Maybe this is something for a quick product news feature?

"Savage Gear Nail spoons:
A micro spoon for macro trout
Have you ever experienced days, when the trout are finicky and difficult beyond belief? And have you ever found the fish to be feeding exclusively on extremely small food items – completely ignoring traditional trout lures such as long, slender spoons. If you have, you know what its like to be fishing during the winter end early spring. And you will have felt the frustration of not having that single lure, that could make a difference.

Savage Gear's new, revolutionary micro spoon, the Nail, is the solution to your problem. The Nail comes in two different sizes (2,4 – 2,8cm) and weights ranging from 1,5 – 3,5 grams. They are extremely lively, and they are just what you need to turn one of these frustrating days when the fish are there but won't bite into a success.

Aren't they too light to cast, you ask. We'll you can fish them in smaller rivers – no problem, and off the coasts and in lakes, they are easily fished behind a bombarda float. This type of fishing has proved ultra-effective during winter, early spring and not least autumn.

For the nearest dealer, please contact Svendsen Sport A/S: info@svendsen-sport.com

Team Blue Bird -flyver stadig.

"Hej Jan.
