YELLOWFIN TUNA
TUNA WERE STILL ON TAP THIS WEEK. WE CAUGHT TUNA FROM MONTUOSA ISLAND TO JICARON ISLAND. THOUGH THE YELLOWFIN BITE IS STARTING TO TAPER OFF WE WERE STILL ABLE TO MAKE SOME NICE CATCHES. MOST OF THE FISH WERE IN THE 60 TO 100 LB RANGE WITH SEVERAL 200 LB PLUS TUNA BEING THE LARGEST CAUGHT THIS WEEK. THURSDAY PROVED TO BE ONE OF OUR BEST DAYS FOR YELLOWFIN WHILE FISHING AROUND MONTUOSA ISLAND
INSHORE THE ACTION WAS DOWN SOME FROM LAST WEEK. WE DID SEE MORE CUBERA SNAPPERS CAUGHT THIS WEEK THAN IN PREVIOUS WEEKS AND THE SAME FOR BLUE TREVALLY. WE ALSO HAD A FEW DORADO AND WAHOO CAUGHT BUT THEY WERE SOMEWHAT SCARCE.
WHEN WE FINISHED THE WEEK WE HAD A BARGE LOAD OF HAPPY ANGLERS, GOOD WEATHER, FAIR TO GOOD FISHING AND A LOT OF SCOTCH DRANK. I THINK I CAN REMEMBER EVEN SOME GUITAR PLAYING AND DANCING ON THE FRONT DECK.
I WANT TO THANK THIS GROUP AND ALL THE ANGLERS THAT FISHED WITH PESCA PANAMA THIS YEAR. WE HAVE HAD A FUN TIME AND LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU FISHING WITH PESCA PANAMA.
TIGHT LINES,
CAPTAIN JAY GUSTIN
