what a couple of Savage weeks!!
We all have waited for the leaves to turn and the fall colors to settle – with great predator fishing to follow – NOW it is all happening!
The October rush have been mayhem many places and incredible specimens have been caught and released – here we just share a few of the best ones!
Mikkel Matzen got a little more than he bargained for, when he put on a Savage Gear 4Play Shad the other day and did a few casts for perch. As the lure fluttered enticingly towards the bottom, the line suddenly stopped. The lure had been engulfed by something big and sinister, and it didn't take Mikkel long to find out that it was a pike. What surprised him though was the size of the fish. A 30 minute long fight ensued, where Mikkel's Savage Gear Vertical rod, Okuma Citrix Baitcaster reel, the 0,13 HD braid, and the 0.30mm fluorocarbon tippet were tested to the limit. Amazingly, everything held up - and Mikkel could draw a sigh of relief as the net slid under the fish. The fish measured 120cm and weighed 14,08 kilos, and after a quick photo session, the massive predator was released back into the cold fall water!
Daniel Van De Kraan, is still having great success with the Herring shads – soon to hit the market – 2 great 10kg++ fish to 12kg – not bad at all!
The Joker, is back red hot – with Danish 10kg+ fish on the same trip – one on the great new 3D herring wobbler – that have shown outstanding results here in the early fall – we can hardly wait to get it out to our many customers . the Big fish of the day – fell to the 3D Real Eel in the 40cm ready to fish version – a version of the lure – that runs deeper and have a great action – both for slow trolling and casting!
Dalien, Shows the way – with yet another cracking fish – this time a 10kg+ pike – that took his favorite hard lure – The 16cm Deviator!
Last, but not least – we welcome NorwegianOle Marius – Alias “Hjorten” to our test team – Ole is one of Norway’s leading big predator anglers and we expect many good reports and ideas from Hjorten! His first attempt with the Real Eel in 40cm Golden ambulance – resulted in a monster fish of 130cm+!!
Even I had a few testing trips – away from the Lure Lap – landing a few good Pike and Perch – on the Real eel and new micro size soft 4Play in 8cm!!
