After a great Efttex show in Valencia - super to be back in office and see the mailbox totally full with fantastic catch reports!!
Owner and guide Per Jonasson from www.fish4u.se is one of the most experienced halibut fishermen out there, and he consistently catches more and bigger fish than most other fishermen could ever dream of. He fishes insistingly with the Herring Cutbait lures and this is a real testament to their effectiveness!
Per has already outdone himself twice this year. First he caught a halibut measuring 200cm and now he has just landed another monster. The latest catch is a 206cm halibut which delivered an exhausting and action-packed fight. Like 99% of all the halibut that Per catches, this magnificent beast was released - and like 99% of all the other halibut released by the experienced halibut-guide, this one was caught on the unsurpassable Herring Cutbait lure!!
Speaking of the Herring Cutbait, Johan Mikkelsen - who studies at the KY Sportsfishing Academy in Forshaga - has had massive success with the lure lately. While fishing with Nordic Sea Angling tours, he has landed a series of impressive fish that simply went mad for the enticing, shimmering movements of the Herring Cutbait. First off, he landed an amazing Savage Devil-fish weighing an amazing 11,6 kilos - a savage looking beast!!
Next up was a gigantic cod measuring 147 cm, a fish that was relatively slim. Caught at the right time of year, this monster cod would have weighed in the vicinity of 40 kilos. It will be interesting to see what this avid young fisherman will catch next! And it is going to be interesting to see what monsters will grab hold of the Herring Cutbait next!
