Panama - NEWS

Happy anglers from PescaPanama.

Last week - "...THE FIRST DAY WE CAUGHT 11 YELLOWFIN TUNA FROM 20 TO 120 LBS AND A HANDFUL OF OTHER FISH, NOT A GREAT START. THE SECOND DAY THE FISHING PICKED UP AS OUR BOATS WERE ABLE TO RUN DOWN AND FISH JICARON AND JICARITA ISLAND. JUST SO I COULD SEE WHAT THE DAYS FISHING REALLY WAS LIKE I ADDED UP THE NUMBER OF FISH CAUGHT THE SECOND DAY AND ALSO THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT SPECIES CAUGHT. I MUST SAY I WAS SURPRISE! OUR ANGLERS HAD CAUGHT AND MOSTLY RELEASED 115 GAME FISH, 47 OF THEM WERE YELLOWFIN TUNA. WE HAD ALSO CAUGHT 14 DIFFERENT SPECIES OF FISH NOT COUNTING OUR VARIOUS BAIT FISH.

....BY DAY THREE BLUE WATER STARTED FLOWING IN BETWEEN ISLA MONTUOSA AND ISLA LADRONES. NOW THIS WAS A GOOD SIGN! OUR ANGLER CAUGHT 60 YELLOWFIN ON POPPERS, JIGS, LIVE AND CHUNK BAIT. THEY WERE NOT PICKY EATERS. JIM BOATED THE LARGEST TUNA THAT WEIGHTED 120 LBS. OUR ANGLERS ALSO MISSED TWO SHOTS AT MARLIN TODAY WHILE FISHING AROUND ISLA MONTUOSA. INSHORE ACTION WAS ABLE TO ADD ANOTHER 34 FISH TO ALL TO THE DAILY COUNT.

...BY DAY FOUR, WITH THE REPORT OF BLUE WATER STARTING TO FLOOD BACK INTO THE FISHING AREA MY HOPES WERE RUNNING HIGH. BY DAY FOUR EVERYONE WAS READY TO SEE WHAT CHANGES IN THE WATER HAD TAKEN PLACE OVERNIGHT. WE HAD THE BARGE ANCHORED AT PUNTA HERMOSA SO IT WASN'T FAR TO RUN TO THE FISHING GROUNDS. CAPTAIN LUCHO ANGLERS. LARRY, MATT, DREW AND KEVIN HAD BEEN TRYING TO HOOK A MARLIN ALL WEEK. WELL, TODAY WAS THE DAY AS THEY CAUGHT AND RELEASED TWO BLUE MARLIN. AFTER A 30 MINUTE FIGHT KEVIN RELEASED A 300 LB BLUE AND MATT RELEASED A LITTLE BIT BIGGER BLUE ESTIMATED AT 350 LB AT THE TIME OF ITS' RELEASE. BOTH FISH WERE CAUGHT NEAR ISLA MONTUOSA WHEN THEY ATE TROLLED PLASTIC LURES...."

Greetings from
